what a little creativity can get you

Yesterday I had an urge to be creative. So I grabbed my things and headed to JoAnn's. This store is heavenly. I can go there and spend hours just walking the aisles gaining inspiration for future projects. But on this day I was focused on what my project was going to be... an apron. It is the WORST when you are trying to be all domestic & make a dinner or dessert or what have you & oils or batter or some other staining ingredient splashes onto your cute outfit. I have always wanted one for that reason but have never found one that was cute enough to buy, so I planned to make my own.

I love the black & white fabric but wanted a little splash of color... Red seemed really fun & is kinda one of my new favorite colors at the moment:)

I'm obsessed! I'm sorry if you see this and I just ruined your christmas present from me but I had to share what I have been doing with my creative juices! Hopefully you will love it as much as I do :)

20 Amazing Years... A day of a few of my favorite things

Its official, I am 20... and to be honest I actually feel older. 19 was just another birthday, one year older and that was it, but this year was different. Maybe it was the fact that I am no longer in my teens, or that I have experienced 20 great years of life, or that 2 decades of my life are over, whatever the reason it was a big day for me.

The original plan for the day was to go to Disneyland (truly my happiest place on earth) & then go to dinner, that didn't end up happening but it still turned out to be a good day. When we got to my house I was handed a box, turns out there was a puppy inside!!! My parents let me keep the runt of callie's litter. Im so excited to have a little friend with me.

On the morning of my actual birthday, my mom, shelly, & I went and got a mani and pedi. AMAZING! I sadly don't even remember the last time I got a pedicure, let alone a manicure! We ended the night watching the Yankees win! (perfect topper to the day). Turns out a lot of my 'Favorites' made up my birthday which was why I think it ended up being so good.

New Favorite :)

So I was browsing the web today trying to find a cute header for my blog when I came across my new favorite website.... Kevin&Amanda.com . This lady has everything that I LOVE- scrapbooking ideas, amazing recipes, adorable fonts, and interesting decor ideas.... all for FREE! I have a secret obsession with fonts and she has so many to choose from that you can simply download to your computer completely for free. I cant wait to try her "Best Chocolate Cake" recipe for my birthday cake :)
