Bob Hope Classic

This weekend me, lucy, my mom, dad, and a handful of neighbors headed to La Quinta for the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic golf tournament. The rain was in no way on our side but we still managed to have a good time. The whole reason we go to this tournament every year is to see all the celebrities that play on the course that the Dippolds' house sits on. We're able to just sit in the backyard and hold up fun signs to get the celebs' attention. Last year I got pictures with Evan Longoria (MLB player) and the guy from Burn Notice and autographs from a ton of other people. This year the tournament was pushed back a day due to the rain and we couldn't even see the celebs. O well... maybe next year. I did manage to get Arnold Palmer's autograph :)

(the group + Jessica on Skype and a creepy clown that was walking around the course, random!)

Lucy found out what a duck was today. She had a BLAST chasing after them.

Me and my puppy

(Lucy mid-air) She was great entertainment for us this weekend seeing how the whole golf thing didn't quite come through.

My Puppy

My little Lucy is nearly 4 months old. Its crazy to think that I've had her for this long already. I must say that I have LOVED every minute of it! She is such a sweet pup. She keeps me company while I'm in Huntington and have nothing to occupy my time with, she wakes me up every morning (as long as Jessi doesn't beat her to it, haha) so that I don't sleep the day away, and she makes me laugh every time I look at her because she is just so darn cute! I never thought that I would be a pet person, yes my family has 5 dogs, a cat, and 3 snakes however, I have never had a "pet" of my own. Lucy was my first pet and she's perfect for me. All she needs is a little love and attention and she's a happy puppy. My favorite thing about her is when she sees people that she hasn't seen in a while (they just entered the room, or she forgot they were there and is reminded), she gets SO excited and starts jumping up and down and licking you. It will brighten anyone's day with ease.

I am more thankful everyday that I have her... its true what they say, dogs are a [wo]man's best friend!

another project

This week I made Katy a hospital gown for when she has Brooklynn. She really wanted one and I thought I may be able to figure it out. She gave me an old gown that she had to base it off of and supplied all the fabric, thread, and trimming. It took me about a day to complete, I started mid afternoon and finished sewing on the snaps the next morning.

It turned out to not be as hard as I anticipated. She decided on hot pink with black trim. She is so ready for this little girl to come and is gonna look SO cute walking around the hospital when she finally does! She's getting "Brooklynn's Mommy" embroidered on the front.

I decided I'll be making these for all the mommas to be (again) in my life :) Can't wait!

B is for Brooklynn

Today was Katy's baby shower for her soon to be bundle of joy Brooklynn. I decided that I wanted to take on the duty of making the cake. My FAVORITE shows are the amazing cake ones like ace of cakes and cake boss so I really wanted to try it and see if I was able to make an "amazing cake". I did a practice cake for my sister's 15th birthday to see if I could handle the job.
It turned out pretty good and tasted delicious! I'm very glad I did a trial run before I made the baby shower cake because I knocked out the bumps and was able to make Katy's cake relatively easily.
I made a Red Velvet cake with Buttercream frosting for the shower.

Bringing in 2010

Where has the time gone? This year had to have been the quickest one to date. 2010 will bring my 3rd year of college, my 21st birthday, and trips to hawaii and NEW YORK!!! I'm looking forward for all that is to come in this new year :) My resolution is to be more active and fit... we'll see if that actually happens.
To off start the night I went with my 4 best friends to Guadalajara's, our FAVORITE restaurant where we did our secret santa exchange.
My family and I then celebrated at our house with many of our neighbors and friends.

Lucy had a rough night, she must've had an allergic reaction to the shot she got earlier in the day because her poor little eyes were swollen almost shut for about 2 hours. She was a trooper though and strut her stuff in the vest my best friend Hanah made for her :)
Happy New Year everyone. May it be as exciting as you hope it to be
